Prohibited items: pets & animals

Never permitted

Protected or endangered wildlife, and products derived from them. Animals whose import, export or trade is illegal in the relevant region. Any breed or species whose keeping is banned locally. Animal fighting — animals kept, listed or bred for fighting, and fight-related equipment.

Cruelty

Listings that promote or arise from animal cruelty — including unsanitary breeding, neglect, illegal sourcing — are prohibited. So are services that present cruelty as care, such as punishment-based "training" that harms animals.

Endangered wildlife

Do not list live wildlife, ivory, fur, horns or other products from protected species. This rule is region-specific and applies everywhere we operate.

Dangerous or abusive activities

Listings for dangerous animal activities, unsafe keeping, or animals presented to be used illegally are prohibited.

Reporting

See a prohibited animal listing? Report it through the report button or the Animal welfare page. We remove it and cooperate with authorities where the law requires.
